Eleonora's Falcons

seemed to come across a high percentage of 2cy and 3cy birds this year - not sure why that should be but maybe being a bit later the adults were settled and the younger birds the ones doing most of the displaying -- heat haze was a real problem near the cliffs and very few are really sharp or well exposed

local Peregrines already had well fledged young on the wing and they were very noisy and active -- the problem on the day I took most of these was the massive amount of heat shimmer against the cliff face -- the juveniles were typically chasing and screaming after each other tussling in the air --
the male came in with a male Little Bittern hotly pursued by a pale phase Eleonora's Falcon but as soon as the juvs heard food was in town they took over and the El drifted off --
